Bunion Treatment
Bunions have a way of making their presence increasingly known in your daily life. And left alone, you can expect a bunion and its symptoms to gradually grow worse over time. You’re likely already aware of that. But no matter how long you have lived with a bunion, seeking treatment can help you live a more comfortable life.

Foot Deformities
Foot deformities such as bunions and hammertoes will only get worse over time. These painful conditions get in the way of daily living, and can even make it difficult to fit into any pair of shoes comfortably. Although surgery is the only way to true fix a structural foot deformity, those who seek treatment during the early stages of the condition may be able to manage their discomfort using conservative treatments.

Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails range in severity from “minor annoyance” to “potentially serious,” depending on an array of factors (and especially whether or not diabetes is in the picture). Whereas anyone who has toenail could potentially sustain this particular condition, there are certain situations that make it more likely. The good news is that this is a treatable condition and, further, there are some preventative measures that can help.

Foot And Ankle Conditions
Each foot has 26 bones, 19 muscles, 33 joints, and almost too many tendons, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels to count. It’s a complex machine with a lot of moving parts. A problem in just one or two areas can cause significant pain and distress. Fortunately, because we are specialists who work exclusively with the feet and ankles, we understand how it all fits together and can provide care for a comprehensive range of conditions.

Heel Pain
From incessant, dull aches to sharp, stabbing pain that greets you every morning, heel pain is no laughing matter—especially if it keeps you from living your best life. But while heel pain is very common among adults, that doesn’t make it normal. And it isn’t something you have to live with, either. Heel pain can arise from many different conditions, but almost all of them are treatable using a variety of conservative care options.

Phsyical Trauma
Physical trauma contributes to countless foot and ankle injuries every year. There are many different sources of trauma, but a leading one tends to be sporting activities. Given the myriad benefits from leading an active life, this is no reason to avoid sports. Instead, you should learn about foot and ankle injuries that can develop and then seek treatment from Dr. Scudday when you recognize them.

Diabetic Foot Care
If you have diabetes, your feet are at risk. Reduced circulation, nerve damage, and other problems can leave your feet more susceptible to injuries, ulcers, and infections. Complications such as these contribute to nearly 100,000 non-traumatic amputations in the United States each year. However, you can prevent the worst diabetic foot problems through developing healthy habits and proactive diabetic foot care from our office.
